Swim Team Registration Information

Swim Team registration was held on Monday, Sept. 15, at 6:30 PM in the Mill Creek Commons. If you missed registration, please see either Coach Rodgers in room 1.606 or Coach Creed in Trailer 41.

Below are the time standards for the 2008-2009 Mill Creek Swim Team. Due to the large number of swimmers that historically have expressed interest in swimming at Mill Creek, we have set up time standards. We train in a six-lane pool, so space is limited. Last year, due to the large interest in swimming, we were forced to reduce our roster so we could run challenging workouts. We typically swim around 4000-4500 yards in a 90 minute workout. A typical summer league team swims around 2000 yards in a 60 minute practice. Meeting the time standards below does not guarantee that you will make the team. We may also keep some swimmers, depending on the numbers, that may be slightly slower than the time standards below. You would not have to meet all of the time standards to participate. For example, you may be strong in breaststroke, but not in backstroke. We will take into consideration that some swimmers may be strong in some strokes, but not in others. We will run a time trial meet on Thursday, Oct. 30 during our normal practice time.

Girls............. Event............... Boys
31.00........... 50 Free............ 28.00
37.00........... 50 Back............ 34.00
41.00........... 50 Breast ........ 38.00
37.00........... 50 Fly............... 34.00
1:09.00........ 100 Free........ 1:04.00

Swim Atlanta has opened a new pool at Auburn Road and Dacula Road. The pool is a six-lane, indoor pool. Swim Atlanta will be running a high school practice group everyday from 2:45 to 4:15. The practices have already begun. The practices will be comparable to our high school practices. A swimmer is allowed to attend either a Swim Atlanta workout or a Mill Creek High School workout. Any swimmer that is looking to get ready for high school swimming, or you are interested in getting involved in USS swimming (and swim like Michael Phelps), then we encourage you to contact Swim Atlanta at:
Dacula Kids Village
1152 Auburn Road
Dacula, GA 30019
770-277-9499
kim@swimatlanta.com (Swim Atlanta Coach Kim Hurst)

Divers will tryout starting October 20th.
